
Severe traffic congestion is reported along Parliament Road and several other roads in Colombo owing to the prevailing adverse weather conditions.
According to Ada Derana correspondent, some roads are submerged in rainwater.
Meanwhile, the Meteorology Department mentioned Intertropical Convergence Zone – where winds from the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere converge – is affecting the island’s weather.
As a result of its influence, the rainy conditions experienced on the island are expected to continue further. Accordingly, showers or thundershowers are expected over most parts of the island after 2:00 p.m.
Heavy showers above 100mm are possible in parts of Uva, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces.
