Sri Lanka expecting 1.5mn tourist arrivals by end of 2023

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Board (SLTDB) has revealed that it is likely for Sri Lanka to have received over 1 million tourists by the end of this year.

Accordingly, it is expected for a total of 1.5 million tourists to have visited the island by the end of 2023.

Speaking in this regard, SLTDB Chairman Priyantha Fernando revealed that a total of 1.2 million tourists had visited Sri Lank by the end of November, thereby making 1.5 million a very likely achievement by the end of December.

He further noted that due to the influx of tourist arrivals, an income of Rs. 1.75 billion was earned by the end of November 2023.
