Indian inmate attacks official at Boossa Prison

A ‘special category’ detainee at the Boossa High Security Prison has reportedly attacked an official attached to the Prison Hospital.
According to Prisons Commissioner and Spokesman Gamini B. Dissanayake, the suspect, identified as an Indian national named Aman Sheikh, had attacked the Dispenser Officer who had provided him medication at the prison hospital on Wednesday night (03 Jan.).
The officer had subsequently collapsed on the ground following the attack, and is currently receiving treatment at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
Legal action is due to be initiated against the concerned inmate, while a jailer has been assigned to investigate the incident, Dissanayake stated.
