Trawler carrying large stock of narcotics intercepted off Sri Lanka

A multiday fishing trawler carrying a large stock of narcotics has been intercepted off the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

Six individuals who were aboard the vessel were also taken into custody in a coordinated operation mounted by the Navy and Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB).

Upon being impounded, the trawler, along with the drug haul and the suspects, has been brought ashore to the Galle Harbour this morning (Jan.05).

Further investigations into the incident is being carried out by the Navy and Police Narcotic Bureau.
