President Ranil meets Al Gore in Davos

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has convened a meeting with the former Vice President of the United States and founder/Chairman of The Climate Reality Project, Mr. Al Gore, on Tuesday (16 Jan.).
This meeting took place in conjunction with the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, with the participation of Mr. Ruwan Wijewardena, the President’s Senior Adviser on Climate Change and Ms. Himali Arunathilaka, Ambassador and the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in Geneva.
President Wickremesinghe is currently in Switzerland to attend the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum.
The Head of State left for Switzerland on 13 January for a 12-day stay town in the Swiss town of Davos where the event is taking place.
The Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum for the year 2024 is held from January 15 - 19 in Davos, Switzerland, under the theme ‘Rebuilding Trust’. It aims to restore collective agency, and reinforce the fundamental principles of transparency, consistency and accountability among leaders.
