Polish national drowns while sea bathing at Panadura Beach

A Polish national has reportedly drowned while bathing in the sea area off the Panadura Beach, police said.
According to police, the 61-year-old had been staying at a hotel in the Panadura (South) area, and was swept away by strong currents while bathing in the Panadura Beach.
Despite the immediate response of a lifeguard at the hotel, however, the victim was pronounced dead upon admission to the Panadura Base Hospital, police said.
