Interim committees appointed to two sports bodies dissolved

The interim committees appointed for the Sri Lanka Karate-Do Federation and the Sri Lanka Automobile Sports (formerly Sri Lanka Association of Motor Sports) have been dissolved by way of a Gazette notification.

As per the relevant Gazette notification was issued by Sports Minister Harin Fernando, the interim committees appointed to exercise powers, functions and duties of the aforementioned sports bodies were dissolved with immediate effect.

As such, in accordance with the Sports Act, No. 25 of 1973, both, the Sri Lanka Karate-Do Federation and the Sri Lanka Automobile Sports are authorised to continue their activities with the officials or committee members elected in the previous election, until a re-election is held.
