Shooting incident reported in Mattakkuliya

A shooting has taken place in Mattakkuliya this evening (March 12), the police said, adding that no casualties were reported in the incident.

Two unidentified individuals who had arrived on a motorcycle had opened fire in Aliwatta area of Mattakkuliya.

This new development comes a day after four people were killed and six were injured in two incidents of gun violence in Galle District on Monday (March 11).

Incidentally, these 2 shootings too were carried out by assailants riding motorcycles.

One incident was reported in Galagoda, Ambalangoda while the other was in Pitigala, Elpitiya.
