Derailment disrupts Coastal Line train operations

Train operations on the Coastal Line have been disrupted by a derailment reported this evening (March 19), Ada Derana learns.

According to reports, the Kalutara South-bound train had derailed near the Secretariat Station shortly after departing the Colombo Fort station at 7.15 p.m.

As a result, trains plying on the Coastal Line towards Galle, Matara and Beliatta are likely to experience substantial delays or be cancelled.
