Speaker endorses VAT and Social Security Contribution Levy bills

Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has endorsed the Social Security Contribution Levy (Amendment) Bill and Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill.
According to Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakse, the two Bills received the assent of the Speaker yesterday (March 20).
The two Bills thus came into effect as the Social Security Contribution Levy (Amendment) Act No. 15 of 2024 and Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act No. 16 of 2024 yesterday.
