Three injured in luxury bus accident on Kandy-Mahiyanganaya road

A luxury bus has been involved in an accident at the Medamahanuwara twin bends on the Kandy-Mahiyanganaya main road today.

The driver of the bus, its owner and another person who sustained injuries in the accident have been admitted to the Theldeniya Hospital for treatment and were later referred to Peradeniya Hospital.

It was reported that a ‘Suva Sariya’ ambulance which was travelling on the lower road at the time of the accident, had narrowly escaped the collision.

Despite the ensuing chaos, the same ambulance team had promptly responded and rushed the injured individuals to the hospital for medical care. 

Further information has been revealed that the luxury bus which was involved in the accident was being transported to Colombo for sale, when the accident had occurred.
