Fairly heavy rainfall of about 75mm expected in several areas

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and Mannar, Galle and Matara districts, the Department of Meteorology says.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Uva province and Batticaloa, Ampara and Hambantota districts.

Fairly heavy showers of about 75 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

The general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
