Anura Kumara sets deadline for debate with Sajith on economy

Leader of the National People’s Power (NPP) Anura Kumara Dissanayake, while addressing a May Day rally on Wednesday, urged the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) to confirm a date before May 20 for the proposed debate on the policies of both parties on economic issues.

Addressing the May Day rally organized by the NPP, the parliamentarian affirmed that this would mark the NPP’s final May Day rally under what he described as the ‘governance of corrupt’ individuals.

“Today, the National People’s Power is holding the last May Day rally held while under the hands of the criminals who destroyed this country”, Dissanayake expressed.

“That SJB’s nagging... They are a constant bother, calling us for a debate. We gave him [Sajith Premadasa] four days. Now he says he is busy all those four days, including nights. Then we asked him to give us a date before May 20. We are ready for any day because only then can we put an end to this nagging.”
