Person nabbed in Kalpitiya for possessing suspected gold antiques

Sri Lanka Navy has apprehended an individual who was in possession of antiques suspected to be gold in the Alankuda area of Kalpitiya on Saturday (11).

 The apprehension has been made as a result of a combined search operation conducted by SLNS Vijaya in the Northwestern Naval Command and Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau, Puttalam in Alankuda area. After inspecting a house in the locality on suspicion, the officers have recovered these antiques which suspected to be gold.
 
The suspect held in this operation was identified as a resident of Eththalei in Kalpitiya, aged 34, the Navy said.

The accused, along with antique items, have been handed over to the Divisional Crimes Investigation Bureau in Puttalam for onward legal action.
