Youth clubbed to death inside home in Hokandara

A 26-year-old youth has been clubbed to death inside a house in the Horahena area in Hokandara.
According to Ada Derana reporter, the incident had occurred at around 7.30 p.m. yesterday (15).
The victim who had sustained critical injuries after being struck in the head with a club by another individual, had succumbed to his injuries following admission to the Athurugiriya Hospital.
The deceased is a 26-year-old married man residing at Horahena Road in Hokandara
The suspect who had carried out the attack has since been apprehended by Athurugiriya police this morning (16).
Athurigiriya Police revealed that the assailant had been in remand custody over drug-related charges and that he had only been released from custody around 10 days ago.
The two individuals were reportedly friends, and police suspect the attack had been carried out over a personal dispute between them.
Nugegoda Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) have conducted an investigation at the scene of the crime this morning.
Athurugiriya Police are currently conducting further inquiries into the homicide, with the suspect scheduled to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.
