May 17, 2024   09:22 am

The Ella-Wellawaya road which was temporarily closed due to inclement weather conditions has been reopened for traffic movement.

Authorities advise that all vehicular movement on this road must be conducted with strict vigilance and under the full supervision of the police.

However, the Disaster Management Centre has cautioned that if heavy rains persist today (17), the road could become hazardous once again.

In that case, the relevant road would have to be closed again at any moment, it said.
