Major flood situation in Millakanda and Pitabeddara

Major flood situations have been reported in Millakanda area of Kalu River and Pitabeddara area of Nilwala River, the Department of Irrigation said.

The department stated that several main roads Bulathsinhala – Kalutara road remain inundated as a result of the situation.

The situation was caused by the torrential rainfall of 149.8mm received by the Millakanda area of Kuda Ganga basin of the Kalu River, according to the Irrigation Department.
