The Secretary of Education of Sabaragamuwa Province stated that all schools in Ratnapura Educational Zone and in Elapatha, Ayagama, Kalawana Educational divisions in Nivithigala Educational Zone will be closed tomorrow (04) due to adverse weather conditions.
The decision was taken due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in those areas.
The Educational Secretary of the Sabaragamuwa Province further stated that based on the weather conditions from tomorrow onwards, a decision regarding the closure of schools will be taken after informing the Zonal Education Directors.
Meanwhile, the Western Province Governor, Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Gunathilake has directed the principals of all schools within the province, where flood waters have receded, to reopen the school tomorrow (04).
