Two close associates of ‘Kudu Salindu’ arrested with ammo, ice and cash

Two close associates of the notorious underworld figure and drug kingpin Salindu Malshitha Gunaratne, alias ‘Kudu Salindu’, have been arrested in the Panadura South area today (09).

Police said that one suspect was apprehended along with a motorcycle in the Nalluruwa area of Panadura South during an operation conducted by the Police Special Task Force (STF).

Officers seized 20 rounds of live ammunitions used in revolvers, 10 grams and 400 milligrams of crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’) and over Rs. 4.2 million in cash, suspected to have been earned from the sale of drugs, which were found in the possession of the suspect.

Following the interrogation of that suspect, another individual was arrested for aiding and abetting by handling this drug trafficking racket from a residence.

Police said that the two suspects are residents of the Nalluruwa and Morawinna areas of Panadura.

During the police investigations, it has been uncovered that the two arrested individuals were handling the local drug trafficking network of two close associates of drug kingpin ‘Kudu Salindu’ who are managing his drug trafficking operation from Dubai.

Panadura South Police are conducting further investigations regarding the arrested suspects.
