Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath has paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Parliament of Australia, Milton Dick.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Minister said that they had an engaging discussion on strengthening parliamentary relations between Sri Lanka and Australia and enhancing bilateral ties on areas of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, Minister Herath also said he was privileged to observe Question Time in the Australian House of Representatives today.
In a post on X, he described it as a “vibrant display of democratic accountability, robust debate, and parliamentary governance in action.”
He further added that he was pleased to see the similarities in the traditions of the two democracies.
