It has been reported that food, beverage and accommodation allowances for May 2026 paid to police officers attached to the Seethawakapura Division were mistakenly credited twice due to an oversight by the bank during the payment process.

Following the error, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in charge of the Seethawakapura Division has issued a written notice to all District Officers, Headquarters Police Inspectors (HQIs) and Officers-in-Charge (OICs) attached to the Seethawakapura Division.

According to the notice, officers have been instructed to withdraw only the regular allowance amount to which they are entitled.

They have also been directed not to withdraw the excess funds mistakenly credited to their accounts and to leave the additional amount untouched, as the bank has informed that steps will be taken to recover it.
