Universal releases Shrek 5 trailer, original cast reunites and new stars join

Universal Pictures unveiled the trailer for the upcoming animated film “Shrek 5”, with a theatrical release scheduled for June 30, 2027.

It has officially been confirmed that Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz will reprise their roles as Shrek, Donkey, and Fiona. Zendaya, Marcello Hernandez, and Skyler Gisondo have joined the cast, voicing the adult children of Shrek and Fiona – Felicia, Fergus, and Farkle.

“Shrek 5” will be the first installment in the franchise in nearly 17 years since the release of the film “Shrek Forever After” in 2010. Since then, two spin-offs have appeared: “Puss in Boots” (2011) and “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” (2022).

It was also announced that at the end of February last year, a teaser for the new Universal Pictures film in partnership with DreamWorks was shown.

Following the trailer’s release, fans can expect a continuation of the familiar story with new characters and the development of the heroes’ family lines appearing in this installment.

Fans can look forward to a new chapter of adventures in the world of Shrek.
