The Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) has taken steps to freeze a luxury house valued at approximately Rs. 40 million in the Ganemulla area, allegedly owned by Nilanthi Perera, alias ‘Kudu Kumari’, who is currently in prison on drug trafficking charges.
The property was frozen following an investigation into allegations that it had been acquired through illegally earned assets.
Police said that before the house was officially sealed, a group of individuals had removed a number of valuable items from the property, including doors and windows installed in the house.
According to investigators, the alleged theft occurred after the inquiry commenced.
The CCIB has launched a special investigation to identify those responsible for damaging the property and removing the fixtures from the house.
