The Ministry of Environment has introduced a new WhatsApp number to allow the public to report environmental issues, with the service coming into effect from today (26).
Accordingly, the public can submit complaints and reports directly via WhatsApp massaging using the telephone number ‘ 070 250 9509 ‘.
The Ministry stated that priority will be given to submissions supported by documents, photographs, and official reports containing factual information and evidence.
It further noted that the initiative is expected to facilitate more accurate, scientific, and timely responses to environmental issues.
The Ministry also said the platform will enable members of the public to promptly report environmental damage observed in the field, while providing an avenue to submit eco-friendly ideas, suggestions, and feedback directly to the relevant authorities.
