The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has directed the Officer-in-Charge of the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) to make submissions tomorrow (03) regarding a request to release electronic devices seized in connection with the ongoing Krrish transaction investigation.

The directive was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama after considering a motion filed on behalf of Dilshan Elmo Aloysius de Silva by President’s Counsel Saliya Peiris.

Counsel appearing for the petitioner Attorney-at-Law Saliya Peiris informed court that FCID officers had conducted a search at his client’s residence under a warrant issued by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court and taken into custody laptops and Apple mobile phones belonging to the petitioner and his son.

He told court that the seizure of the devices had affected his client’s ability to carry out day-to-day activities, including banking transactions.

President’s Counsel Peiris submitted that his client was willing to cooperate fully with investigators and provide any required information, adding that the application had been made seeking the release of the seized electronic items.

After considering the submissions, the Magistrate directed the FCID OIC to file a response when the matter is taken up tomorrow.
