Over 2,600 health sector appointments to be made within a month - Ministry

The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has announced that steps have been taken to grant appointments to a total of 2,652 Health Service Assistants, Public Health Management Assistants, Field Assistants in Mosquito Control, and Overseers within the next month.

 

The appointments, made on the instructions of Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, are aimed at improving the quality of the country’s free healthcare system, enhancing the efficiency of hospitals, and ensuring uninterrupted hospital administration and patient care services.

 

Accordingly, under the Human Resources Development Programme, long-standing vacancies are being filled in several categories, including Health Service Assistants. 

 

The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has taken steps to grant appointments to Health Service Assistants under several categories.

 

As the first batch, appointment letters will be issued to 627 Health Service Assistants assigned to the Western Province tomorrow (04).

 

The Ministry stated that a further 600 Health Service Assistants in the second batch will receive appointments on July 18, followed by another 762 Health Service Assistants in the third batch, along with 295 Field Assistants in Mosquito Control and 121 Overseers on August 01.

 

In addition, a total of 247 Public Health Management Assistants are scheduled to receive appointments on July 16.
