The Department of Fire Service has announced that its emergency hotline is temporarily unavailable.
The Head of the Fire Service Department has formally informed the Disaster Management Centre regarding the situation.
Accordingly, the public is requested to contact the Disaster Management Centre’s emergency hotline, 117, to report any fire incidents occurring in both urban and non-urban areas until the technical issue affecting the hotline is resolved.
Commenting on the incident, the Director of the Disaster Management Centre stated, “This is a temporary situation, and until the issue is resolved, the public is requested to use this number to report fire-related emergencies. Our officers will take immediate action to inform the Fire Service Department regarding reported fire incidents. The public can contact the Disaster Management Centre through this hotline in all three languages.”
