PM Harini meets Qatar's Amir, conveys Sri Lanka's condolences on passing of Father Amir

Sri Lanka's Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who is in the State of Qatar to convey condolences on the passing of the Father Amir, arrived at Lusail Palace in Doha today (15).

 

Upon her arrival, the Prime Minister was received by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Media Division. 

 

The Prime Minister subsequently met with His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the statement said.

 

During the meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya conveyed to His Highness the Amir the deepest condolences of the Government and the people of Sri Lanka on the passing of the Father Amir, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, it added.

 

The occasion was attended by the Deputy Amir of the State of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani; Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani; Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council; senior members of the Royal Family, including a number of Their Excellencies the sons of the late Father Amir and the Sheikhs.
