Parliament is scheduled to reconvene today (21) chaired by the Speaker of the House Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne, the Office of the Secretary-General of Parliament said.

The House is set to meet at 9.30 a.m., with two motions due to be debated for approval under Standing Orders 119 and 120.

From 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., Parliament will debate a special motion on referring to the Attorney General the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) investigation report into the permit scheme for the importation of fully electric vehicles by Sri Lankans employed overseas.

A separate debate will also be held on referring matters uncovered during investigations by the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) for necessary legal action.

From 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., Parliament is scheduled to debate an adjournment motion on the performance of the Committee on Public Petitions.

Meanwhile, the Opposition is expected to hand over a no-confidence motion against Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara to the Speaker today.

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Ajith P. Perera said all Opposition parties have jointly agreed to submit the motion.

In addition, all Opposition parties are scheduled to hold a special discussion the day after tomorrow under the leadership of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.

MP Dayasiri Jayasekara said the meeting would focus on matters relating to the Opposition's future course of action.
