Cabinet approves appointment of new Surveyor General

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of O. T. M. I. Tilakaratne as the new Surveyor General of the Survey Department of Sri Lanka.

 

The incumbent Surveyor General, P. K. L. S. Panduwawala, is scheduled to retire from public service on August 20, 2026, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age.

 

Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of O. T. M. I. Tilakaratne, the most senior officer in the Special Grade of the Sri Lanka Survey Service, who currently serves as an Additional Surveyor General in the Survey Department, to the post of Surveyor General with effect from August 20, 2026.
