The supply of water will be suspended for four hours today (22) in the Kandy District due to essential maintenance work being carried out at the Kandy Main Water Supply Project, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) said.

Accordingly, water supply will be interrupted from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Rajapihilla, Medawala (Old), Medawala (New) and Galagedara service centres as well as the Mawatagama service area.

Rajapihilla Service Area:

Uduwawala, Polwatta Road, Glewatta, Wasgewatta, Uda Bokawala, Palle Bokawala, Pihangewatta, Ahasliyadda, Kotuwewatta, Nagahamula Road, Thawalankoda, Balagolla, Hapugoda, Pattiyawatta, Rajapihilla, Moragahawela, Attaragama, Ulladupitiya Road, Pohorabethenna Road and Attaragama Dekinda Road.

Medawala (Old) Service Area:

Kavumkohe Road, Gonigoda, Jayanthi Road, Gurukate, Palkumbura, Idamegama, Ambegama, Gorokgasanga Road, Elamalpata, Kotutenna, Pethiyagodawatta, Kaluwana, Bothota, Harankahatanna, Dodantenna, Kumburegeder, Dembaralowa, Thibbuta and Thalapellagodda Road.

Medawala (New) Service Area:

Batugoda, Ahalagasinna, Diddeniya, Ovissa, Watagoda, Dobagammana, Hedeniyа, Suriyakumbura, Ambaruppa, Harankahawa, Bokkawala, Walathenna and Pathirada.

Galagedara Service Area:

Galagedara, Wewabada, areas around Boyagoda, Rambukkana Road, Poholiyadda Road and Kurunegala Road.

Mawatagama Service Area:

Mawatagama, Barandana Road and surrounding areas.

The NWSDB requested consumers in these areas to store sufficient water in advance and apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption.
