Few showers expected in parts of the island today
A few showers will occur in coastal areas of the Western and North-western provinces and Galle district during the morning.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Batticaloa, Ampara and Monaragala districts after 2.00 p.m.
Mainly dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island.
Fairly strong winds about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Northern, North-central provinces and in Hambantota and Puttalam districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
