One dead in shooting at function hall in Wattala

A person has died following a shooting incident reported today (23) near the Mattakkuliya Bridge in Palliyawatta, within the Wattala Police Division.
The shooting took place at a function hall where a child’s birthday party was being held, Ada Derana reporter said.
The victim, who sustained gunshot injuries in the incident, was admitted to Colombo National Hospital but later succumbed to the injuries.
The suspect involved in the shooting has reportedly fled the scene, and further investigations are underway.
