The Lalith Athulathmudali Mahapola Higher Education Scholarship Trust Fund has announced that the final selection list of recipients for the 2024/2025 Mahapola Scholarship has been forwarded to the respective universities, urging selected students to complete their online registration by August 17, 2026.

According to the Trust Fund, students whose names appear on the final selection list must register through the Mahapola online website (https://mahapola.lk/BankApp2025/ ) using their National Identity Card (NIC) number on or before the deadline.

After completing the online registration, students are required to print and sign the application and submit it to their respective university together with a copy of their bank passbook or a bank account confirmation.

The Trust Fund further stated that scholarship payments will only be credited to an individual savings or current account maintained in the applicant's name at either the ‘Bank of Ceylon’ or the ‘People's Bank.’

Students have also been advised not to change their registered bank account details after completing the registration process, warning that any unauthorized changes may delay or suspend scholarship payments.

In addition, applicants are required to provide a valid mobile phone number and email address, which must remain active throughout the scholarship period as all official communications will be sent through these contact channels.

Meanwhile, students who wish to appeal against their non-selection for the 2024/2025 Mahapola Scholarship must submit their appeals through their respective universities.

The universities are required to forward such appeals to the University Grants Commission (UGC) on or before October 15, 2026.
