A large consignment of heroin along with other narcotics, for which court proceedings have been completed, is scheduled to be destroyed tomorrow (25).
The relevant consignment of narcotics will be destroyed at the incinerator facility located in the Lactowatta area of Wanathawilluwa, Puttalam.
According to Sri Lanka Police, the consignment to be destroyed includes 99 kilograms and 478 grams of heroin related to cases concluded before the Marawila Magistrate’s Court, along with other narcotics held at the Government Analyst’s Department that have been ordered for destruction by various courts across the island.
Police stated that the consignment of drugs will be taken from the Marawila Court Complex tomorrow morning and destroyed at the Wanathawilluwa incinerator facility.
