A special Sri Lankan police team has left Malaysia to bring back three suspects arrested there, including alleged organized crime figure Danushka Kaushalya, alias “Ratmalane Saima,” police sources said.

The suspects are expected to arrive in Sri Lanka later today (10), escorted by a special police team led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Olugala.

Police said one of the three suspects is a key associate of organized crime figure Kanjipani Imran and is also the subject of an Interpol Red Notice.

The three suspects were arrested during a joint operation conducted by Sri Lankan and Malaysian police.

According to police investigations, Ratmalane Saima had allegedly handled Kanjipani Imran’s financial affairs and managed his social media activities, including the dissemination of his voice recordings.

Investigators have also found that Saima allegedly helped underworld figure Kehelbaddara Padme remain in hiding in Malaysia last year on the instructions of Kanjipani Imran.

Police said Saima had previously been a close associate of “Kudu Anju,” who is believed to be hiding in France, before later becoming associated with Kanjipani Imran.

According to investigators, Kudu Anju had allegedly planned to kill Saima. Police said Saima subsequently began working closely with Kanjipani Imran after being informed of the alleged plot.

Ratmalane Saima is believed to have fled to Malaysia around 10 years ago, police said.

The three suspects are wanted in connection with several alleged murders and organized criminal activities.

Further investigations and legal proceedings will be carried out following their return to Sri Lanka.
