
The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) states that the number of dengue cases reported in Sri Lanka so far this year has continued to increase.
According to the NDCU, a total of 91,346 dengue cases have been reported across the country up to yesterday (13).
The NDCU further reported that 68 deaths have been attributed to dengue fever during the same period.
July recorded the highest number of dengue cases so far this year, with 29,968 cases reported during the month. Meanwhile, 6,004 dengue cases were recorded during the first 13 days of August, up to yesterday.
The Western Province has recorded the highest number of dengue cases so far this year, with 48,383 cases reported.
The Southern Province has recorded 13,479 cases, while 8,160 cases have been reported from the Central Province, according to data released by the National Dengue Control Unit.
