11 navy personnel rescued from distressed vessel off Angulana
Eleven navy personnel have been rescued and hospitalized after a Dvora vessel of the Sri Lanka Navy was involved in an accident in the seas off the coast of Angulana.
The Navy Media Spokesperson stated that, based on information received, an operation was launched to rescue the personnel on board the vessel.
Following a request from the Navy, the Sri Lanka Air Force also provided assistance in the rescue operation.
Accordingly, the SLAF Media Spokesperson stated that an Mi-17 helicopter and a Bell 412 helicopter were deployed to monitor the distressed vessel and assist in the rescue operation.
