German javelin thrower Julian Weber won gold at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham with his final attempt, repeating his triumph from the home event four years ago in Munich.
Despite shoulder problems, the 31-year-old launched the javelin 90.40 metres on Saturday and edged out his team-mate Nick Thumm who threw 83.76m.
Latvia's Patriks Gallums took bronze with 82.97m.
Weber, who has yet to taste world or Olympic gold, had been troubled by shoulder problems throughout the season and only began competing in mid-July.
