India bundled out for 193, set Sri Lanka 372 to win in Galle

India were bowled out for 193 in 48.5 overs in their second innings of the first Test against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, leaving the hosts with a target of 372 runs for victory.

 

Rishabh Pant top-scored for India with 66, while Devdutt Padikkal made 44 and KL Rahul contributed 35.

 

Sri Lanka's Asitha Fernando led the bowling attack with 4 for 31. Prabath Jayasuriya claimed 3 for 43, while Lahiru Kumara took 2 for 28.

 

India had earlier posted 462 in their first innings. 

 

Sri Lanka replied with 284, with Sonal Dinusha scoring 100 and Niroshan Dickwella making 80.

 

India took a 178-run first-innings lead, before adding another 193 to set Sri Lanka a formidable fourth-innings target of 372.

 

Sri Lanka now face a demanding run chase on a Galle surface where India's bowlers will look to exploit the conditions and wrap up the Test.
