Retired Colonel Ranjith Rajasinghe appointed new Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority

Colonel (Retired) Ranjith Rajasinghe has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), following the resignation of former Chairman Sunil Jayaratne.

 

He has been appointed to the position following the resignation of Sunil Jayaratne, who previously served as Chairman of the Authority.

 

Jayaratne had served as Chairman since March this year. He is reported to have resigned amid administrative issues within the Authority.

 

However, attempts by Ada Derana to contact Jayaratne for comment regarding his resignation were unsuccessful.

 

Following the vacancy, the Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation appointed Ranjith Rajasinghe as the new Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority.

 

Rajasinghe is scheduled to assume duties on August 25.
