The National Organizations Collective has urged the President to refrain from issuing a third detention order against former Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay and to produce him before a court immediately.
Speaking at a Colombo press conference held under the theme “Justice for Sallay – Dialogue Forum,” representatives of the organization warned that the government, led by the President, would be responsible if Suresh Sallay suffered any harm while continuing to be held under detention orders.
The group called for Sallay to be brought before the courts without further delay.
