Water supply suspended in several areas in Colombo and Gampaha

The water supply to several areas in the Colombo and Gampaha districts has been temporarily suspended due to an urgent situation affecting water quality near the Kelani River water intake point.

 

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) said the supply from the Ambatale and Kelani south coast water purifiers was temporarily suspended following a notification from the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).

 

The Water Board said further updates will be provided regarding the restoration of the water supply.

 

It also expressed regret to consumers for the inconvenience caused by the current situation.
