Container truck overturns near Gonapola Junction

A container truck overturned near Gonapola Junction on the Horana-Colombo Road early this morning (29), obstructing one lane of the roadway, according to the Moragahahena Police.

 

The accident occurred at around 1.00 a.m. when the container truck, travelling from the Horana Export Processing Zone towards the Colombo Port, overturned while negotiating a bend, police said.

 

Police suspect that the accident may have occurred as the truck was travelling at the same speed while attempting to pass the bend.
