A 35-year-old man has died after being clubbed to death following an argument with his brother in the Mahagoda area within the Tangalle Police Division.
According to the police, the victim sustained serious injuries in the assault last night (28) and was admitted to the Tangalle Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as a 35-year-old resident of Mahagoda.
Police launched an investigation following a complaint lodged at the Tangalle Police Station.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the assault occurred after an argument between the deceased and his brother escalated, police said.
The 28-year-old suspect has been arrested, and the Tangalle Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
