The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) says reports circulating on social media claiming that the prices of several dairy products, including powdered milk and yoghurt, have been increased are false.
The CAA said a post labeled “BREAKING NEWS” is currently being circulated on social media, claiming that prices of powdered milk, condensed milk, yoghurt and several other products have been increased.
However, the Authority has clarified that the information regarding the alleged price increases is false and urged the public not to share such reports without verifying their authenticity.
The CAA also warned that sharing false or unverified information could create unnecessary panic among consumers and lead to misunderstandings in the market.
The public is further requested to report any suspected price changes or market irregularities to the Consumer Affairs Authority via the consumer hotline 1977.
