Police have announced temporary traffic restrictions in several areas due to the Esala Maha Perahera of the Sri Suramyarama Purana Viharaya in Madinnagoda, Gothatuwa, scheduled to take place today (30).
The procession is set to begin at 6:30 p.m., and traffic restrictions will be imposed along the roads used by the procession.
The perahera will commence from the Madinnagoda Sri Suramyarama Viharaya and proceed via Mahaniyara junction along the 175 bus route, through Buthgamuwa Road, Ambagaha Junction and Kotuwegoda, before reaching Rajagiriya.
From Rajagiriya, the procession will travel along Medawelikada Road, Madinnagoda and M.D.H. Jayawardena Mawatha, before returning to the temple.
Police have requested motorists using these roads during the procession to use alternative routes.
