A total of 294,132 students applied for the 2026 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination and of these, only 289,867 applicants sat for the examination, according to the Commissioner General of Examinations A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage.

 

Meanwhile, around 56,000 candidates have scored above the cut-off mark in the exam, she said.

 

According to the results, the highest marks in Sinhala medium was obtained by a student from the Kurunegala District with 193 marks, the Commissioner General stated.

 

Meanwhile, the highest score in Tamil medium, which stands at 188 marks, has been obtained by a student from the Jaffna District.

 

The results of the 2026 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination have been released online, the Commissioner General of Examinations announced.

 

Accordingly, the results can be viewed on the department’s official website: www.doenets.lk

 

This year’s Grade 5 Scholarship Examination was held on August 9 at 2,723 examination centres islandwide.
