
The Sri Lanka Women’s National Team has secured automatic qualification for the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy 2027, despite Sri Lanka not being selected to host the tournament.
Issuing a statement, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said it welcomes the team’s qualification and reaffirmed its commitment to providing the national side with the necessary support and resources as it prepares for the tournament.
While Sri Lanka will not host the 2027 competition, SLC said it will continue to work closely with the International Cricket Council (ICC), the host nation, and all relevant stakeholders to support the successful staging of the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy.
SLC also congratulated the Sri Lanka Women’s National Team on securing its automatic qualification and said it looks forward to supporting the team as it prepares to compete on the global stage.
