
Former Minister Johnston Fernando has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) in connection with an ongoing investigation.
Fernando arrived at the Bribery Commission today to provide a statement, said Ada Derana reporter.
The former Minister was arrested over allegations that he caused a loss of approximately Rs. 7.4 million to the government.
According to the allegations, Fernando removed the company that had been legitimately selected to supply chairs for the Polgolla Mahinda Rajapaksa Auditorium and subsequently awarded the contract to a company associated with him.
